Sanj Kumar

Sanj Kumar is a Family Lawyer at Maeve O’Brien and Associates.

 

She has experience dealing with both complex parenting and property matters. She prides herself in assisting senior team members in providing advice to and advocacy for our clients. Sanj assists clients to understand their legal rights and has a particular interest in parenting matters. She is cost-focused, pragmatic and believes in reaching resolutions in an effective and realistic way. 

 

Since her admission, Sanj has worked exclusively in Family Law at several boutique Melbourne CBD family law firms. Before practicing as a lawyer, Sanj worked in both the private and public sector as a paralegal and legal assistant, bringing in wide experience and knowledge.

 

Sanj also volunteers at Fitzroy Legal Services as a Family Lawyer to give back to the community and provide access to justice to the most vulnerable in the community.

 

 

Sanj assists clients with all aspects of their Family Law matters including, family violence intervention orders, divorce applications, property settlements, parenting arrangements and parental orders and Binding Financial Agreements. 

 

 

Sanj was awarded a Bachelors of Business (Law) and a Juris Doctor at Monash University. She obtained her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.

 

Away from the law, Sanj is passionate about bringing members of her community together. She is a Melbourne Committee Member for Brown Boss Babes, a non-for-profit organisation aimed at bringing women of colour together to network and mingle. 

 

In her spare time, she also enjoys spending quality time with her family over a home-cooked meal and exploring Melbourne’s restaurants.
