Senior Associate

Overview

Bradley Schaare is a Senior Associate at Maeve O’Brien & Associates.
Bradley practises exclusively in Family Law and has over 10 years’ experience advising clients across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Bradley understands that family law matters often arise during some of the most challenging periods in a person’s life. He is committed to helping clients understand their options, develop clear strategies and achieve practical, cost-effective outcomes wherever possible. While he is an experienced advocate when litigation is required, Bradley is passionate about resolving disputes through negotiation and alternative dispute resolution where appropriate.

Prior to joining Maeve O’Brien & Associates, Bradley was a Senior Associate at a specialist Family Law firm in New Zealand. He has also worked as an in-house solicitor for government agencies in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, where he gained significant experience in child welfare and safeguarding matters.

Areas of expertise

Bradley advises clients in all aspects of Family Law, including property settlements, Binding Financial Agreements, parenting arrangements, family violence matters, divorce applications and child support.

Bradley has extensive experience assisting clients to negotiate and formalise property settlements, with a practical and commercially focused approach to achieve lasting resolutions. He also has particular experience in matters involving complex parenting issues, including relocation and allegations of family violence.

Bradley enjoys the strategic and problem-solving aspects of Family Law and works closely with clients to develop tailored solutions that reflect their individual circumstances and long-term objectives.

Recognition

Bradley was admitted as a lawyer in 2015 after completing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.

Since 2024, Bradley has been regularly appointed by the Family Court of New Zealand as Lawyer for Child, an independent role equivalent to an Independent Children’s Lawyer in Australia. These appointments reflect the confidence the Court places in Bradley to represent and promote the best interests of children in complex parenting proceedings.

Away from the law

Outside of work, Bradley enjoys spending time outdoors, keeping active through sport, and exploring Victoria’s many parks, walking trails and coastline. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends, and his miniature poodle, Barry, who occasionally makes a guest appearance at the office.
